Work on the circulation desk
Get acquainted with the collection
Teach information literacy lessons
Give book talks
Learn about the library's collection development policy (including budget)
Maintain a log of activities performed throughout the DFW
Collection analysis
Lesson plans
Book talks (text and pictures)



Become proficient working with the school library’s cataloging system
Observe site supervisor as she adds and edits materials from Follett Destiny Library Manager system
Assume an active role in adding and editing materials in Follett Destiny
Keep samples of records added or edited in Follett Destiny


Learn (& apply) skills related to the inquiry process (as taught in Newport News Public Schools)
Observe site supervisor as she instructs students about the different steps in the inquiry process
Assume an active role in teaching students about the inquiry process

Maintain a log of activities demonstrating my active engagement teaching

One on one work

Collaborate with teachers, especially in the area of media literacy
Collaborate with site supervisor as she prepares lessons on media literacy for 8th graders
